Lighting designers have the power to transform spaces, impacting performance, emotion, and how people experience their world. Learn how we work as part of the larger design team, impacting projects at every scale, from individual rooms to city-scale urban design plans. We’ll talk about some of the upsides and downsides of this profession that balances art and science, and talk about why it may be the right profession for you!

This workshop challenges the notion that daylight is irrelevant to lighting design. Contrary to the belief that lighting systems need to be optimized for nighttime conditions, we demonstrate how daylighting can enhance your lighting design, reduce energy consumption, and be profitable in doing so. Participants will engage in intuitive exercises and use daylight metrics to explore the impact of daylight on their lighting designs. This course will empower designers to use their own intuition without being encumbered with complex software. Join us to reconceptualize daylight for lighting design and learn how to profit from it effectively.

Experience the Showroom Spectacular—an exciting afternoon filled with food, hospitality, live demonstrations, giveaways, docent tours, and other engaging attractions within the Dallas Market Center’s permanent lighting showrooms. This signature event takes place on the third and fourth floors of the Trade Mart, just a short escalator ride from the ArchLIGHT Summit show floor.

This year’s expanded event includes a Career Fair in partnership with the University of North Texas Interior Design Student Alliance. There will also be recognition for the AWARE art installation from ArchLIGHT Summit 2023 that has found a permanent home at UNT as a reminder to use sustainable practices and materials in projects.

Cap of the day with special celebrations for the IES and IALD, and an official closing party hosted by Eurofase.
