Executive Vice President at mwConnect, a pioneering lighting and IoT company headquartered in Sacramento, California, Stephen is responsible for overseeing the company’s daily operations and managing its subsidiaries across Asia. He leads a cross-functional R&D team that has developed cutting-edge wireless lighting control and IoT products, earning prestigious industry accolades, including the IES Progress Report, Sapphire Award, Brightstar Award, Lightfair Technical Innovation Award, and the DOE L-Prize.
Stephen is a serial entrepreneur investing in and advising on several technology start-ups. He has deep technical expertise in lighting components such as LED drivers, power supplies, and advanced controls, including sensor technologies and wireless network platforms like Bluetooth Mesh, Zigbee, and Thread. Stephen is actively engaged in various lighting industry groups, including the Illuminating Engineering Society, the Lighting Controls Association, the Zhaga Consortium, and the DALI Alliance. He frequently presents at major industry events, including the IES Annual Conference, LEDucation, and Bluetooth SIG conferences.
He holds an MBA from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is a member of the Lighting Controls Association, the Illuminating Engineering Society and the DALI Alliance.
